Am excited about this one!
I have really fancied doing something a bit different tiara-wise recently. Have a few ideas in my head for stuff, but haven't had a chance to do much. Then my friend asked me to make something for her wedding, which wasn't going to be an entirely conventional affair as for one thing the bride would be in purple! Fab I thought, perhaps I can have a go at something a bit different. Then Emma said she would like something a bit medieval, or Lord Of The Rings - ish! Cool I thought, again something I'd not done before. So we looked around and found a few things that Emma liked, then I got to work!

Payment in kind!
Went away with the girls this weekend and one of them had done the food shopping for the weekend. Wouldn't take any money from me for it, so we agreed I would make her a ring and bracelet instead....first time I'd done this style, so quite happy with the outcome....

Jo's tiara
Some quick photos I took. I wasn't at all sure if it was going to work or not, and this was my third attempt! Still don't think it looks that brilliant as it is here, but I think it really worked on Jo on the day! The bridesmaids ones were very similar, just a bit smaller (and slightly less crystals!)

Table Plan in Detail!
Here's some photos I took quickly before I delivered the Table Plan to the hotel Friday night! I really enjoyed doing this. It was hard work, and it took a lot of working out, but we got there in the end and I'm really pleased with the result. Had loads of lovely compliments about it at the wedding too, which is always nice!

Also....
I wanted to make my own jewellery to go with my outfit for the wedding, which had a lot of bright blues and greens in it. This was my first attempt at the bracelet. I made it a bit small, so did another one, and matching necklace, but I haven't had a chance to upload any photos of them yet!
Abi's invites!
Whilst in the middle of all the stuff for my brother's wedding, I've been doing a friend's invites for her wedding in December too! It's been a bit manic to say the least! Still, I'm really pleased with the outcome - it took some deciding, but I think they've come out with some really lovely invites - and although the wedding is December 22nd, they don't come across as "too Christmasy", but kinda just hint at it!
Been busy! (for once!)
Have been flat out for my brother's wedding, which was on Saturday. It started with the invitations (below), and then table name cards, table name info cards, place name cards, table plan and three tiaras! I've really loved doing it, and Jo & Dave's choices were fab. I struggled with the tiaras as they weren't like I've ever done before, but I think we got there in the end! Here's a few photos from the day itself, will post some close-ups I took before later.
Table info names: (they were all names of places in France that Jo & Dave like, with photos on the front and information about the town/village on the back)

Place Name Cards:

The Table Plan: in 3D! This was the coolest idea I've ever seen! It took a bit of work to get it right, but I'm really really pleased with how it turned out!

Jo's tiara. V. sparkly!: Bridesmaids ones were the same but a little smaller.

Now that was a labour of love!
Finally finished my brother and his fiancee's wedding invitations today! They have to be the most complicated thing I've ever done - and 80 of them! I worked out that's 240 holes punched, 240 heart-shaped holes punched, 480 bits of double-sided tape applied, 480 bits of card printed, cut and stuck, over 500 pieces of paper printed, cut and stuck. 240 bits of ribbon cut and tied, 240 gems stuck on, and 160 hearts hole punched out and glued on!!!
Still, I really enjoyed the challenge, and although I don't think there's any glue left in the South of England, Dave and Jo seem to love them, and that's the main thing!
Now on to Order of Service booklets, table names, place names and table plan! Am really looking forward to doing it all!
Here's a few photos. Forgive the Photoshopping of the details, you never know who's looking these days!

Party Invites!
Just realised I hadn't uploaded my friend's daughter's party invites that I did last month. Same little girl as the ones last year (further down, pink gingham). This time there was a "fairytale castle" theme, so I went with that....

Cakes!
I've forgotten to put Ollie and Toby's birthday cakes up here! I don't think they're a patch on Ollie's beach scene one from last year, but they did the job!
Toby was having a "yellow" party so wanted Mr Happy for his birthday cake:
And Ollie was having a sport's party, so hence this:
Dan just complained that the balls weren't to scale! Typical! He was going to have a go-gos (the toy not the 80s band!) party and I was really looking forward to making a giant go-go cake, but then he changed his mind! Maybe next year eh?
Then with the leftovers (!) I made Mum and Dad a 40th Wedding Anniversary cake. It was a real rush job, and didn't travel to Center Parcs well (where we all went to celebrate), but it was quite tasty!!!
Latest Tiara
A friend asked me to make a tiara for her daughter's First Communion. I've never done one for that purpose before, but my friend told me exactly what she was after and we worked from there. I was a bit worried as my friend doesn't live close so I couldn't try it on her daughter for size/shape, but I think they were happy with it!

Fantastic News!

Photo says it all really! My brother finally got round to asking his lovely girlfriend to marry him! They've set the date for the 26th of September this year (eek!). The boys are going to be page boys, which they're not overly thrilled about lol (but I am!), and David and Jo have asked me to do the wedding invitations, which I'm currently working on as they need to be out in the next few weeks! (Eek again!)

Blimey, how long has it been???
I've had a manic few months had done nothing much creative sadly. No painting since Jo's one, although I've got one "on order" from a friend who's redecorating her bedroom. I did do all my own Christmas cards this year (whilst on holiday at Center Parcs!), but don't seem to have taken a photo of any! Shame, as I really enjoyed doing them and had a blue and purple theme rather than something more traditional! I also made loads of Congratulations cards - I had so many friends having babies over the last few months!

It was Toby's birthday - but I just did invites on the pc this time, he wanted a "yellow" party - so that was simple! Finding enough yellow things to put in a party bag was a challenge though! And I doubt many of the parents thanked me for the inclusion of a Flake chocolate bar!!
I did do a card for my dear friend Trudy's 40th birthday:

Am desperate to get the paintbrushes out again soon, but can't really see that happening for a few weeks!
