Anyone for tennis?!

Ollie was having a tennis party for his birthday this year, so of course we needed a tennis cake! It was the first time I've tried doing "people", so it's not brilliant, but it did the job! (Cake tasted lovely too!)

For Nan...

I took masses of photos of Nan's funeral wreaths because the flowers were just so beautiful, she would have loved them. She especially loved roses, and we both had a particular fondness for yellow ones. This is one of the yellow roses from Nan's funeral wreath...
I'm still deciding about the background colour, not really happy with it, but I'm going to leave it for now and see if I have time later to change it.

A Departure for me!

I saw a stunning photo by a friend taken of a bay in Scotland early in the morning and thought I might have a go! Something very different for me, and I have to say there's lots I'm not happy with. But at the same time, considering it's something so different, I'm still quite pleased!!

Henri's Invites!

Finished Henri's invites last week. They took a bit of working out as there were so many lovely bits they'd chosen from my samples, but we both agreed it looked a bit too "busy", so we simplified it a bit and came up with this:

Made her a keepsake box to go with it (using some of the blue/silver paper we'd decided to leave off the cards:

New baby!

My friend's little sister (well, she'll always be the little sister in my eyes!) had a little boy on Sunday. This is the card I've made.

Am in the middle of doing my friend Henri's wedding invites at the moment, they should be ready by the weekend!

Getting started on the "exhibition"!

I bought an easel on Ebay! I am stupidly excited about this! I have always wanted a proper full size easel, but looking around in Hobbycraft and other places a decent one has been £150+ - not justifiable really!

So I had a look on Ebay thinking I might pick up a second hand one a bit cheaper, when I came across a lovely looking new one for £40! Only problem was it was coming from Germany - would it ever make it here?

Well, it turned up about three days after I'd bought it! AND it's just fab! So to try it out I've just painted my first painting for my little "exhibition" in July. Toby's lovely teacher bought me some flowers the other day as I'd helped out in class when OFSTED were in, so I took some photos and did this from one of them:

And then as usual, not wanting to waste leftover paint (!), I did this quickly:

Have worked out I really need to do at least one painting a week to get ready for this thing in July - eek!

Wooohooooo!

Look at my new baby!! My husband has been rolling his eyes all week at my excitment, but I don't care! All my craft stuff in one place! (Or at least it will be once I can get to it all and put it there!). I'm hoping to get an easel up there too so I can paint :O)
I know the decor is a bit mental! It was my children's nursery and I haven't had the heart to paint over it yet! Maybe I will once I've had to sit in it a while!!
And there's still room for more stuff! Yippee!
Room on top to leave stuff drying - one of the many issues I had before with doing everything on the kitchen table - it all had to be packed up at mealtimes!
Still needs a bit of organising, but it's getting there!
Of course I do share with this up-and-coming two piece rock group lol!
